1️⃣ Live Streaming Workflow for the Spring Festival in Tokyo (40 min)
Speaker: Fumitaka Watanabe (IIJ)
At the Spring Festival in Tokyo, a classical music celebration held annually in spring at Ueno Park in Japan, IIJ handles all aspects of the streaming.
We introduce the streaming infrastructure IIJ built to deliver live streams for 70 performances across over 10 venues during the 40-day period.

2️⃣ Behind the Streams: Live at Netflix (60 min)
Speakers: Anne Aaron, Thomas Symborski, Tyler Casey (Netflix)
In this session, we'll take you through the technical journey of how we do live streaming at Netflix. We'll cover the architecture of Live, the foundation we set, and what we learned while building it.

【Admission / 参加方法】
- Please create a Meetup.com account and register for this event in advance.
- Registered participants will receive entry instructions by email. Please follow them at arrival.
- No walk-ins; advance registration is required.
- At check-in, please submit two business cards for identity verification. One will be placed in a name holder and must be worn visibly at all times. The other will be collected for access control and securely disposed of by Tokyo Video Tech after the event.

🎤 Takesato Hayashi | 林 岳里 (Tokyo Video Tech)
As a Technical Evangelist at Macromedia, contributed to the adoption of Flash Video. After roles at Adobe, IIJ, and Forecast Communications, now serves as a Customer Success Manager at NPAW, covering APAC. Possesses broad knowledge and experience in streaming technologies across production, delivery, and analytics. Organizer of Tokyo Video Tech.
🎤 Fumitaka Watanabe | 渡辺文崇 (IIJ)
Currently a manager in IIJ’s Business Strategy Department, with nearly two decades in the broadcasting industry. Has led IPTV standardization and production initiatives, oversaw live streaming for the Spring Festival in Tokyo through this spring, and collaborates with Berlin Phil Media on research and development of next-generation streaming technologies.
🎤 Anne Aaron (Senior Director, Open Connect Encoding Technologies, Netflix)
Anne Aaron is Senior Director of Encoding Tech at Netflix, where she leads the team responsible for media processing across VOD, Cloud Gaming and Studio and broadcast, encoding and operations for Live streaming. Anne is originally from Manila, Philippines and holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. Anne was recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Top 50 Women In Tech in 2018 and received the Workflow Medal from the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers in 2019. In 2021, her team received two Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards. When she is not running after or feeding her two kids, she tries to catch up on the latest shows on Netflix.
🎤 Thomas Symborski (Staff Software Engineer, Live Streaming Technologies, Netflix)
Architecting Netflix’s live pipelines as tech lead, bridging broadcast rigor with solid software solutions-- focusing on scale and automation.
🎤 Tyler Casey (Broadcast Operations Engineer, Live Streaming Technologies, Netflix)
Emmy award-winning broadcast engineer, tech manager, and technical producer with experience in entertainment, sports, and news for traditional broadcasters, startups, and tech. Passionate about solving unique problems, he has experience building and operating trucks, studios, and data centers.
