"Amateur Astrophotography; Modern Tools for Deep Sky Imaging"

Modern equipment & techniques available to night sky imaging enthusiasts is amazing; enabling hobbyists to generate incredibly detailed photos of nebulae, galaxies, planets, comets, supernovae, and other unimaginably distant objects. This month, Dr. Paul E. Cizdziel (Science Advisor | Laurus International School of Science) will show us how it's done and how anyone can get started, even from light-polluted city environments like Tokyo.

After a 35 year+ career in biotechnology business development, including the last 25 years in Japan, Dr. Cizdziel retired to a part-time position in academics 3 years ago. Driven by a late-in-life fascination with the cosmos; he is self-taught in astronomy and astrophotography. Dr. Cizdziel currently works at a private international school for K through high school as an educator and science advisor focused on teaching space science and astronomy. His "Astrophotography Japan" YouTube channel has over 3,000 subscribers and over 100 videos on deep-sky-imaging from Yokohama and darker skies around Japan. Originally from Buffalo, New York, Dr. Cizdziel is a permanent resident in Japan, and space enthusiast.
