Nerd Nite Tokyo #72: The Camera Eye
詳細
While the Tokyo Business Meetup is on hiatus, we would like to highlight an event that we believe many of our members would enjoy.
Nerd Nite Tokyo is a social event on Friday nights each month, presenting talks on a wide variety of topics in science, literature, history, the arts, engineering, technology, the environment, and current events. Think of it as a more casual form of TED.
Here's a brief description of this month's event from the organizers:
Every month, we gather some smart speakers and a curious crowd, add a bar, and create something unique. This month, we’re in Sugamo to talk about computer vision and narrating a Moon landing! As always, we will have cafe food and craft beer on tap.
First, researcher Guillaume Pelat will discuss computer vision: how a neural network processes an image, and more importantly, how we can understand the decisions it makes. Then, Nerd Nite’s most prolific speaker, astrophysicist and JAXA science communicator Elizabeth Tasker, returns to give us the behind-the-scenes account of the first Japanese Moon landing — the landing she provided the official live English commentary for!
Drinks (both alcoholic and non) as well as food will be available. Check out the menu here and come early; we’re opening the doors at 7 PM. Drink, meet, and be square-y! Kids are also welcome at Nerd Nite.
