While the Tokyo Business Meetup is on hiatus, we would like to highlight an event that we believe many of our members would enjoy.

Nerd Nite Tokyo is a social event on Friday nights each month, presenting talks on a wide variety of topics in science, literature, history, the arts, engineering, technology, the environment, and current events. Think of it as a more casual form of TED.

Here's a brief description of this month's event from the organizers:

Every month, we gather some smart speakers and a curious crowd, add a bar, and create something unique. This month, we’re at Study Abroad Pub near Shinjuku to talk about video game music and finding astonishment through magic! As always, we will have food and drinks available.

We’re celebrating our tenth anniversary year with speakers new and old! First, musician and Nerd Nite volunteer Gray Braham will trace the lineage of the technology that makes video games sing, from Pong to PS5. Then, professional magician and entertainer Steve Marshall returns to Nerd Nite to explore astonishment: how paying attention to the small, surprising moments of everyday life can change how we experience time, curiosity, and joy.

Drinks (both alcoholic and non) as well as food will be available. We’re opening the doors to our new, bigger space at 7 PM, so come early, drink, meet, and be square-y!
