The Connection Table: Food, Culture & Community @PunjabHaus
The Connection Table: Food, Culture & Community @PunjabHaus
**A night of culture, connection, and community in the heart of Berlin** Hey everyone, We welcome you all to **Punjab Haus**, a cozy and spacious Indian restaurant on Meraner Str., and we've always believed that **food** has this incredible power to **bring** **people together**. That’s why we are hosting this — not just as a dinner or a party, but as a chance for people from **different backgrounds, countries, and walks of life** to come together, share stories, laugh, and feel part of something warm and real. Whether you’ve just moved to Berlin, you’ve been here for years, or you're just passing through — we’d love to invite you to our **first community night of the summer**. *** ### 🌍 What’s the vibe? Think of it like a big living room with chai, music, and good people. Some will come to meet new friends. Some just want to relax and have a drink. Some might talk about travel, music, love, life — whatever flows. You don’t need to know anyone. You don’t need to be anything. Just come as you are. *** ### 🫶 What we’ll have: * A warm, welcoming space (indoor & outdoor) * Delicious **Indian Food** + drinks (non-alcoholic too) * Background music, chill lighting, and soft vibes * Open tables for conversations — or quiet corners if you just want to take it in * Hosts (including us) to welcome you & help you feel at home *** ### 📍 Details 🗓 **Every Saturday** 🕖 **19:00 till 1:30** 📌 **Punjab Haus – Meraner Str. 20B, 10825 Berlin** 💳 **Card and accepted** 🎟️ **Free entry – but please support by ordering food/drinks** 🙏 *** ### 🔔 A few things to know: * This is a **safe, respectful space** — all identities, backgrounds, and energies welcome * **No pressure to mingle** — talk, chill, dance, or just observe * We may take a few photos for our page — if that’s not okay, just tell us (no problem at all) *** We hope this is the start of something beautiful — a space where culture, connection, and kindness come together. Looking forward to meeting you 🧡 — **Simar**

Asian Languages & Culture Exchange 🍜日本語, 한국어, 汉语🍥
Asian Languages & Culture Exchange 🍜日本語, 한국어, 汉语🍥
This is a 3 phase meetup. You can come at any time. 1.) 6:30 p.m.: Gathering at the meeting spot (see gmaps link and photo!). 2.) 6:45 - 7:00 p.m.: Walk & Talk to the Kerb food court. 3.) 7:00 - 10:00 p.m.: Immerse conversations in the Kerb food court. **1.) Meeting spot is inside the Berlin Mall (near Hugo Boss)** Click on the map or just copy this link into your browser: [https://goo.gl/maps/oVPKSY7X1YmAVkvv8](https://goo.gl/maps/oVPKSY7X1YmAVkvv8) The exact meeting spot can also be seen in the photo depicted below (see red arrow). Look for a meetup sign or organizer wearing a black or red lanyard with "staff" written on it. ***Best ways to get there:*** 1\. U\-Bahn \(subway\): Get off at Anton-Wilhelm-Amo-Straße (former Mohrenstraße) via U2 and just walk 3 min to the mall. 2\. Bus: If you change at main station you can take the M41 or M85 to S Potsdamer Platz /Voßstr. and walk to the mall. **2.) Walk & Talk to the Kerb food court** The best part of this Meetup! Most of the walk will consist a underground route all the way to the Kerb. **3\. How to find the Kerb food court** [https://maps.app.goo.gl/xJTQg9oBoGL67syz7](https://maps.app.goo.gl/xJTQg9oBoGL67syz7) Kerb is located at the former Sony Center. The new flagship food court of Potsdamer Platz. Most likely we will be sitting upstairs on the first floor next to the bar (take the stairs to the left). ***Best ways to get there:*** 1\. U2 \(subway\): Get off at Potsdamer Platz and walk around 7 min to Kerb. 2\. Bus M41 or M85 Get off at Potsdamer Platz and walk 5 min to Kerb. *Who is this meetup for:* 1\. Asians who want to practice German and/or English\. 2\. German speaking individuals who are studying \(preferably\) Japanese\, Korean\, Mandarin or Cantonese\. 3\. Anyone who is interested in cultural exchange and wants to socialize\. *What you can expect:* 1\. A professionally organized meetup that can adapt to any changes given the current situation\. 2\. A collaborating venue where you can further socialize with other members\. *important: This event is held at the same time and meeting location like the "Networking & Language Exchange - 🍖international🍻" one. So I'm basically organizing 2 events at the same time which means that you can expect way more people than on the list.* *** Whenever you attend a meetup, the most common as well as first question you get is: "Where are you from?" You probably heard this question a million times. Well, at least I did. From my own experience of attending over 200 international meetups in various countries such as Germany, Japan, Australia and Thailand, I can tell you that asking for the name is a better approach. “A person’s name is to that person, the sweetest, most important sound in any language.” - Dale Carnegie If you really want to connect with like-minded people you should remember their name, but you don't have to remember every persons name you've talked you. Be picky about that, don't be me who can somehow remember everyones name easily. Don't tell yourself sth. like "I'm bad at remembering names." It's all about developing the habit of asking for a name and keep the conversation going on. Furthermore, you want to learn German or any other language. Learning the local language is crucial to connect with the locals and developing a true friendship. This can be accomplished with immersion. My goal is to inspire you to go out of your comfort zone and improve yourself each time you join this meetup.

x-dance: On Tape | Co-Creative Dance Journey
x-dance: On Tape | Co-Creative Dance Journey
### **For those who prefer more details, you will find:** * Who this event is for - no previous experience required! * What this event is about * Exactly how it "works" * What the title of this event means * Flow for the evening #### **For you** This special format allows for deepening and alternative experiences: * Listen fully to your creativity: Discover the freedom that comes with dancing without guidance, embracing spontaneity and expression. * Celebrate the organic collective spirit: Invite your agency to connect with yourself and others through the dance. * Feel the feels: Allow for curiosity, openness and non-judgement to offer their gifts to you and the space. ### **Experience the unique magicx-dance: On Tape** Join us for **x**-dance: On Tape, where dance and connection intertwine in an exploration of integrity, agency, and the beauty of imperfection. **x**-dance: On Tape is an invitation to dance in a unique space to disrupt any dualistic concepts between leader and follower, teacher and student and dissolve into a spirit of co-creation. Together, we will let go of any constructs and roles to immerse ourselves in a shared dance journey of self-expression and connection. #### **A special take on the 5Rhythms Musical Journey** For **x-dance: On Tape**, I pre-record the entire 5Rhythms Wave. That recording serves as our shared musical canvas—a soundscape to hold us. As I dance alongside you, we will co-hold this space, allowing the co-creation to unfold organically. By focusing on what is, rather than seeking to adjust or fix, we’ll create a collective tapestry of movement that honors each person’s unique expression and our collective field. #### **A nod to analog and its gifts** The “On Tape” concept pays homage to the beauty of the analog experience – a fixed sequence, an “imperfect” sound and a tactile experience. #### ### **Flow of the evening** Doors open at 19.15 and close promptly at 19.45. Please note entry after 19.45 isn’t possible. * **Welcome + Introduction:** After a guided warm-up through the body, we’ll have a general welcome and introduction to the ***On Tape*** concept before we go into the dance. * **Dance + Music:** Let go of any preconceived notions you might have about dance. Unlike anything you’ve experienced before, there is no choreography or special moves in this space. The music is played in a form of a wave where the rhythms will rise to a crescendo and then gently fall – and you’ll get to discover how it feels to move to those beats, moment by moment. During the dance, you’ll be guided with some words of inspiration and invitations (never instructions) to enhance your experience. * **Take it Further – gathering after class:** Once the official dance is over, we open the space for all who want to stay and connect. There will be snacks, opportunities for exchange and spaces for quiet reflections, too. * **No phones:** To allow for greatest spontaneity, creativity and freedom of expression, no phones on the dance floor.

Contra dance with Big Scioty on Jan 3 - First Congregational Church
Contra dance with Big Scioty on Jan 3 - First Congregational Church
**Caller: Gaye Fifer** **Band: Hot Coffee Breakdown** **Big Scioty Contra Dance** **temporarily returning to our long ago location for Jan-March - First Congregational Church, 444 E. Broad St., Columbus 43215** WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner. Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot. For more information contact me or check out our website: [www.bigscioty.com](http://www.bigscioty.com/) Please bring your own refillable water bottle. Snacks to share are always welcome!
