Queer grief and loss with Raf Beck
Queer grief and loss with Raf Beck
**Queer grief and loss *with* Raf Beck** for LGBTQIA+ people with experiences of migration and/or displacement **[free event with registration](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/queer-bridges-monday/w02-2026)** This workshop, aimed specifically at young, queer migrants, aims to explore our different experiences of death, loss and grief. As queer people we may have some specific shared experiences of grief and loss, but as migrants these experiences may have a different resonance. Migrants may additionally be grieving the loss of loved ones who still live but who they cannot see as they are in the home of our birth from which we are now estranged and unable to visit. In the workshop we will speak about our grief and our losses by naming and honouring those we grieve for. **General Information** **Queer Bridges: Forging connections and providing resources for LGBTQIA+ people with migration experiences.** **Participants**: This workshop is for all who identify as LGBTQ+ and have **experienced migration and/or displacement**. If you don’t share these experiences but are interested in joining please reach out to us first to see if space is available. We ask that all participants respect the program’s core focus and contribute to fostering an open respectful space. **Registration**: This event has limited spots available. The Connection Table: Food, Culture & Community @PunjabHaus
The Connection Table: Food, Culture & Community @PunjabHaus
**A night of culture, connection, and community in the heart of Berlin** Hey everyone, We welcome you all to **Punjab Haus**, a cozy and spacious Indian restaurant on Meraner Str., and we've always believed that **food** has this incredible power to **bring** **people together**. That’s why we are hosting this — not just as a dinner or a party, but as a chance for people from **different backgrounds, countries, and walks of life** to come together, share stories, laugh, and feel part of something warm and real. Whether you’ve just moved to Berlin, you’ve been here for years, or you're just passing through — we’d love to invite you to our **first community night of the summer**. *** ### 🌍 What’s the vibe? Think of it like a big living room with chai, music, and good people. Some will come to meet new friends. Some just want to relax and have a drink. Some might talk about travel, music, love, life — whatever flows. You don’t need to know anyone. You don’t need to be anything. Just come as you are. *** ### 🫶 What we’ll have: * A warm, welcoming space (indoor & outdoor) * Delicious **Indian Food** + drinks (non-alcoholic too) * Background music, chill lighting, and soft vibes * Open tables for conversations — or quiet corners if you just want to take it in * Hosts (including us) to welcome you & help you feel at home *** ### 📍 Details 🗓 **Every Saturday** 🕖 **19:00 till 1:30** 📌 **Punjab Haus – Meraner Str. 20B, 10825 Berlin** 💳 **Card and accepted** 🎟️ **Free entry – but please support by ordering food/drinks** 🙏 *** ### 🔔 A few things to know: * This is a **safe, respectful space** — all identities, backgrounds, and energies welcome * **No pressure to mingle** — talk, chill, dance, or just observe * We may take a few photos for our page — if that’s not okay, just tell us (no problem at all) *** We hope this is the start of something beautiful — a space where culture, connection, and kindness come together. Looking forward to meeting you 🧡 — **Simar**
In Berlin lebt Zeko. 🔵 **Ozan Zakariya Keskinkılıç, Son of a Dog / Hundesohn (2025)** A story about the euphoria and vulnerability of loving someone, about the fear and the joy. About quiet cries and loud whispers: at the kitchen table, in stranger’s beds, at prayer time. And in the process, it surveys our fractured present, transcending all the borders between countries, languages, and bodies. **About the Village Book Club** • Book lovers and bookworms have been meeting on a bimonthly basis to discuss works of fiction and non-fiction (novels, biographies, and essays) focused on or related to LGBTQIA+ themes and personalities. • Anticipating insightful discussions, we choose the next book two months in advance. • While the evening discussions are conducted in German, participants are welcome to read the selected books in their preferred language.

Saturday Mornings @ East Market
Saturday Mornings @ East Market
Let's grab some coffee/food and share a morning chat! The East Market has an ample parking lot and outdoor and indoor seating. Grab a cup of coffee from Winston's Coffee & Waffles or on your way to East Market and meet us on the second floor - table behind or east of the elevator. If the weather cooperates we will be meeting in the patio. Per what this group is about: "Everyone is welcome! International transplants to Columbus who want to improve language skills, Columbus residents who want to discuss international travel and culture, and anyone who enjoys getting together for good conversations."

Japanese Language Meetup at Dublin Library
Come and join our lively Japanese language meetup, where Japanese language learners and native speakers come together to learn, play, and connect. We’ll practice through fun games and interactive conversation in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Whether you’re just starting out, more advanced, or a native speaker who enjoys helping others, everyone is encouraged to join and participate. After the library we'll take a leisurely walk together to get food/drinks. There are many options around including North Market Bridge Park. It's a perfect opportunity to continue our conversations and enjoy each other's company over a meal.
Speak Easy (Storytelling)
Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for January is "Chemistry" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 7:00 pm, show starts at 7:30 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!
