🌸 Plum Blossom Ride to Saga-Arashiyama 🚴‍♀️🚴🚴‍♂️

Let's go cycling to visit a shrine famous for its plum trees, and explore the ancient route called "Chiyo-no-Furumichi"（千代の古道） which shares the same name with the organizer! 😉 We will go passing a beautiful riverside road and the popular Arashiyama area.

[Itinerary]
11:00 Meet at Muromachi-dori between Shijo-dori & Ayanokoji-dori
11:05 Start riding
12:00 Lunch break at Musubi Cafe (*Subject to change)
13:00 Resume riding
13:45 Arrive at Umenomiya-taisha Shrine
14:30 Leave Umenomiya Shrine
15:00 Finish at Umekoji Park

[Athletic Level] Easy and mostly flat course. There is a slight uphill in the Sagano area, but it is not too steep.

[What to Bring] Any type of sports bicycle (Road, Cross or MTB), helmet, water and some cash.

[Cost] Aprx ¥2500

• Participation fee: ¥300 to support Meetup organizer's fee
• Entrance fee: ¥500 for the shrine visit
• Lunch: ¥1700 or more

[Important Notice]

• Ride safely! Your safety is your responsibility, so please stay alert and cautious on the road.
• Be insured and informed: Make sure you have insurance coverage and are familiar with Japan’s traffic rules.
• Bike check: Ensure your bike is in good condition before heading out.
• Share the road: Some sections are narrow and shared with cars and pedestrians, so please keep your speed in check.
• Weather updates: If the weather looks bad, I’ll post an update by 9 p.m. the night before.
• Respect others: If you need to cancel, please update your RSVP status accordingly so that other people can join. If you’re absent without notice twice, we may need to remove you from the group.
