[What’s Next Geo] #1: Cloud-Native Geospatial Forum 2026 Report
Let’s talk about what’s next for geospatial!
What’s Next Geo is a new casual meetup series for people who work with or are curious about geospatial technology. Each session, we bring the latest trends, tools, and real-world projects to the table and talk about where the geo world is heading.
For our first session, we’re sharing a report from the Cloud-Native Geospatial (CNG) Forum 2026, held recently in Utah, USA. We’ll cover the key discussions and trends from the forum, including GeoParquet, STAC, COG, PMTiles, Zarr, and more, and what they mean for geospatial work in Japan.
