WHY SO SERIOUS COMEDY is bringing English stand-up comedy to Kyoto for the first time.

Join us at Moxy Kyoto on Saturday, September 12 for a night of live comedy featuring comedians from Japan and the international comedy scene.

Our comedians share funny and relatable stories about life in Japan, Japanese culture, travel, language, dating, social customs, and the cultural differences between Japan and the rest of the world.

If you're visiting Kyoto, living in Japan, traveling solo, or simply looking for a unique night out, come and experience Kyoto from a different perspective — through English stand-up comedy.

Looking to make new friends in Japan? This is a great opportunity to meet people from Japan and other countries while laughing together. You can come alone, meet fellow travelers, expats, locals, and comedy fans, and naturally start conversations through the shared experience of watching a live comedy show.
