Kyoto’s Sacred Night✨ Gion Festival Illuminations & Mitarashi Foot Ritual🏮

A special evening of tradition and beauty🌃

You can enjoy the following contents while relaxing and socializing :)
Since this is a Omakase (leave-it-to-me tour), I will bring you to the specific locations on the day of the event☺

① Mitarashi Festival (Ashitsuke Ritual)
World Heritage Shrine: The origin of this ceremony is that people performed misogi purification in the river to avoid the plague 🕯
The participants enter the Mitarashi Pond up to their knees and offer candles on the altar, creating a magical atmosphere✨

② Gion Matsuri (Yoiyama Festival)
One of the three major festivals in Japan, originated from the Gion Goryokai, which was a prayer to ward off the plague🏮
The beautiful lights of the lanterns lit on the 11 floats and the sounds of the Gion music echo through the air✨

☆The organizer is Government Licensed Guide (English)🗣️
I will take photos with SONY Full-Frame Camera and share them in the Meetup later, so please feel free to use them📸

※The event will be cancelled in case of heavy rain⚠
In case of cancellation, I will comment by 22:00 p.m. the day before the event.

※The organizer will not be responsible for any accidents or injuries that occur during the event⚠
Please come well hydrated and with comfortable walking shoes👟

① みたらし祭 (足つけ神事)
世界遺産の神社、疫病を避ける為に川で禊を行った事に起源を持ちます🕯
御手洗池に膝まで入って、祭壇にろうそくを供え、幻想的な雰囲気になります✨

② 祇園祭 宵山 (後祭)
疫病退散を祈願した祇園御霊会が起源の日本三大祭りの一つです🏮
11の山鉾に灯された提灯の美しい明かり、祇園囃子の音色が響き渡ります✨

☆主催者はプロのガイド: 全国通訳案内士(英語)です🗣️
SONYフルサイズ一眼で写真撮影も行います📸
後日Meetupに共有しますので、ご自由にお使いください☺

※大雨の場合は中止となります⚠
中止の場合: 前日22時までにコメント致します。

※イベント内で起きた事故や怪我には一切責任を負いません⚠

I will be near the orange juice vending machine just outside the ticket gate🍊

※Entrance fee: 500 yen
Please bring a towel as your feet will get wet.
Those who do not participate in the event, please wait at the main shrine⛩

↓ Transportation by bus or train (fare 230 yen)🚉

② Gion Matsuri (Atomatsuri Yoiyama Festival)
One of the three major festivals in Japan, originated from the Gion Goryokai, which was a prayer to ward off the plague🏮
The beautiful lights of the lanterns lit on the 11 floats and the sounds of the Gion music echo through the air✨

※Although less crowded than the Maematsuri festival, you may not be able to enjoy the festival satisfactorily or our visit may be changed depending on conditions on the day of the festival⚠

③ Around 21:40 End of Meetup
The nearest station will be【Hankyu】Karasuma or Kyoto-Kawaramachi station,【Kyoto Subway】Shijo station,【Keihan】Gion-Shijo station🚉

The end time may vary.
※Please be sure to let me know if you are leaving on the way out⚠

We may take group photos and post them on social media📸
If you do not want to be in the photo, please let me know☺

行事に参加しない人は、本殿でお待ちください⛩

11の山鉾に灯された提灯の美しい明かり、祇園囃子の音色が響き渡ります✨

※前祭よりは混雑しませんが、当日の状況によりお祭りを満足に楽しめなかったり、訪問先を変更する場合がございます⚠

③ 21:40頃 現地解散予定
最寄り駅は【阪急】烏丸駅 or 京都河原町駅、【京都地下鉄】四条駅、【京阪】祇園四条駅の予定です🚉

終了時間は前後する場合があります。
※途中で抜ける方、必ずお声がけください⚠

集合写真を撮影し、SNSに投稿する事もございます📸
写真に写りたくない方は、お伝えください☺

🏮【How to participate / 参加方法】

・Registration is required to attend⚠
※Those under 18 years of age are not allowed to participate.

・Cancellations must be made by 22:00 p.m. the day before the event🙇‍♀️
※Please refrain from cancellations after that time or no-shows.
※If you are unable to attend, please change to "Not Going".

・If you do not follow the rules, if you are double-booked (have reservations for other meetup events on the same day and time), or if you are on the waiting list (due to various adjustments), I may change your status to "Not Going".

※未成年の方(18歳未満)、新規の40代以上の日本人男性の方はご参加頂けません。

・キャンセルは前日22時までにお願い致します🙇‍♀️

※参加できなくなった場合は、必ず"不参加"に変更してください。

・ルールを守って頂けない方、ダブルブッキングしている方(同一日時に他のMeetupイベントを予約)、キャンセル待ちやイベント数日前にご予約された方、こちらから"不参加"に変更する場合がございます。

※現在、「キャンセル待ち」に申請できない不具合が多発しております。その為、残席ありの状態になっていても、円滑な国際交流の為に、参加者バランス(国籍・性別など)を調整させて頂く場合がございます。ご予約後に不参加へ変更する際は、必ず私からご連絡致しますので、何卒ご理解の程宜しくお願い致します。
