Kicking off our fourth year with a New Year's sspecial sessions!
A11y Tokyo Meetup will celebrate its third anniversary in January 2026, quickly entering its fourth year!
For this first anniversary event in January, we are honored to welcome two special guests: Takaaki Kato, an active electric powerchair football player in his personal life, and the comedy duo Norihiro Yamazaki & Takayuki Nishikawa, who competed in last year's M-1 Grand Prix preliminaries. We will present a special sessions with these two guest pairs.
Have you heard of the “Easy (Raku-raku) Mouse” or “Powerchair football”?
The Easy Mouse is an assistive technology device that Takaaki uses to operate his PC. It consists of a joystick and buttons. He also uses an accessory called a key guard. On the day, we will show you how Takaaki is using his PC.
In his private life, Takaaki is also an active player in powerchair football. We will also show you footage of matches in which Takaaki participates.
A comedy duo emerges from the web accessibility world!?
A comedy duo emerges from the web accessibility world!?
Introducing “Hell Nuts”! Mr. Yamazaki and Mr. Nishikawa usually work in web accessibility and have even participated in this A11y Tokyo Meetup before.
Now, these two have teamed up to compete in the 2025 M-1 Grand Prix preliminaries! While the result was a close call... we bring you a New Year's comedy show featuring this legendary duo suddenly born from the web accessibility world.
Accessible, Hybrid, Multilingual Meetup
A11yTokyo Meetup is a unique meetup that features various genres of 'accessibility', conducted in a hybrid format of on-site and online broadcasting, primarily in Japanese and English.
Many foreigners participate in the on-site venue in Tokyo, building networks through socialization sessions. We use the voice recognition technology app 'UD Talk' to provide real-time captions, and its automatic translation feature allows for multi-language subtitle translation.
In past Tokyo venues, many Japanese and foreigners have participated. The post-session networking opportunity is a chance to build a global network! Additionally, people from various countries participate online from both within Japan and abroad.
