Sad on Mother's Day: A Cozy Griefy Space
Studio DDLA, 944 Chung King Road, Los Angeles, CA, USGrief doesn’t follow a calendar, but for a lot of people Mother’s Day brings heartache, memory, longing, or silence. Whether you’re mourning a mother, navigating estrangement, working through pregnancy loss or infertility, mothering through loss, or holding complex emotions around the role itself—you’re welcome here 💐
We know it can be hard to be around the cutesy brunch scene and celebratory social media posts, so Tile Cat Tea House & Studio DDLA are teaming up to offer cozy, supportive programming for anyone carrying grief around motherhood ❤️🩹 Come as you are, no need to explain.
🤍 2-5 PM: Drop into a cozy gathering with a craft table and tea tastings. Tile Cat Tea House will be pouring hand-sourced Chinese looseleaf teas and Krystal Chang of Hua Tea will be pouring hand-blended floral teas. We’ll also create a community altar, so bring any photos or items you’d like to add to the altar and/or contribute your craft table creation.
🤍 6-8 PM: Grief Yoga hosted by Jill Schock (Death Doula LA) - a gentle, embodied practice to move through emotion with breath and care.
All events are donation based (suggested amount is $10-15 for tea & crafts and $25 for grief yoga) but no one will be turned away for lack of funds!
