Let's spend an autumn evening together with mooncakes, good food, and good company.

In Japan, Tsukimi (月見) is a tradition of enjoying the beautiful autumn moon. Around the same season, people in China celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋節), a time for gathering, sharing food, and appreciating the full moon.

And of course, one of the most iconic treats of the Mid-Autumn Festival is the mooncake (月餅). 🥮

For this evening, our friend @Laura will come and show us how to make mooncakes together!

We'll mainly be making sweets, so feel free to bring your own dinner, snacks, or anything you'd like to eat. We can cook, eat, chat, and enjoy the evening at our own pace.

We'll simply split the actual cost of the mooncake ingredients among everyone joining. It will likely be around ¥500 to ¥1,500 per person.

No special skills needed, just come as you are, make some mooncakes with us, and enjoy a cozy autumn night together. 🌕✨

Want to enjoy a little nature, meet new people, and watch the sunset over Kyoto together?

Join us for a relaxed beginner-friendly hike up Mt. Daimonji! We’ll start near Ginkakuji and walk together up to the Daimonji Fire Bed, where we can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view over Kyoto.

This is not a serious or fast-paced hike. We’ll take our time, enjoy the walk, and make sure everyone can keep up. Once we reach the viewpoint, we’ll hang out for a while, have some snacks, chat, take photos, and watch the sunset together. 🌇The sunset time would be around 5:57 PM.

🥾 The Route

Ginkakuji → Daimonji hiking trail → Daimonji Fire Bed → return the same way

The trail from the Ginkakuji side to the Fire Bed is around 1 km each way and usually takes about 30–60 minutes uphill. For our group, we’ll walk at a relaxed beginner-friendly pace.

We’ll meet first, introduce ourselves, and start hiking together shortly afterward.

🎒 What to bring

Water — please bring plenty, as it may still be hot
Some snacks for yourself or to share
A flashlight or headlamp for the walk down after sunset
A small towel / anything you need for the heat
Your good mood 😊
👟 What to wear

Please wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in and comfortable walking, running, or hiking shoes.

The trail is suitable for beginners, but it is still a real mountain trail with some uphill sections, stairs, rocks, and uneven ground, so sandals or heels are not recommended.

Note: The event will be canceled in case of rain.

The venue boasts exclusive views of Kamo river, providing an ideal setting for productivity.🤤

We’ll break for a friendly lunch around 1PM—perfect for building connections.
Because of this, the host may not be at the event venue. If you plan to visit between noon and 2 PM, please let us know beforehand.
Any other time, feel free to swing by whenever it suits you, and you can leave whenever you like!

👀Bikes can only be parked at No.4 and No.7. If those spots are full, please use the nearby bike parking.
