Enjoy a special spring experience in Tokyo while meeting people from around the world.

Yushima Tenjin has been famous for its plum blossoms since the Edo period and is one of Tokyo’s best spots to enjoy early spring flowers. About 300 plum trees bloom across the shrine grounds, creating a beautiful seasonal landscape.

The Yushima Tenjin Plum Festival is a traditional spring event held at this historic shrine, which enshrines Michizane Sugawara, the god of learning. During the festival, visitors can enjoy cultural performances, food stalls, and local vendors, creating a lively and festive atmosphere.

We will first meet at a café, where you can enjoy English conversation and international meetups in a relaxed and friendly setting.

After that, we will walk together to Yushima Tenjin Shrine to enjoy the beautiful plum blossoms. While strolling through the shrine grounds, you can experience a traditional Japanese spring festival, explore the food stalls, and even make a wish for success in studies or new challenges.

A shrine with about 1,300 years of history. It is well known for blessings related to business prosperity and matchmaking, and many tourists visit because it is located close to Akihabara.

🏮 Plum Festival Overview

🌸 Plum Garden
Approximately 300 plum trees are planted within the shrine grounds and around Otoko-zaka (Men's Slope) and Onna-zaka (Women's Slope). White and red plum blossoms reach their peak bloom in succession. A major attraction is the opportunity to stroll amidst the tranquil atmosphere enveloped by the fragrance of plum blossoms, right in the heart of the city.

🌸 Dedicated Performances
Performances dedicated to the festival are held mainly on weekends during the festival period. The program focuses on allowing visitors to experience Japanese traditional culture up close, featuring Japanese dance, shamisen, rakugo, and shigin (poetry recitation).

🌸 Local Products Fair & Stalls
For a limited time, the shrine grounds host a local products fair and stalls where you can enjoy Japanese sweets, light snacks, and lucky charms. One of the charms is being able to stroll while eating and shop for souvenirs amidst the lively, festive atmosphere.

🏮 Important Notice
- This is not a guided tour, so that no guide will be provided.
- From 12:00 to 1:20 PM, you can participate in meetups at the café.
- Last call for drinks is 30 minutes before departure.
- If you do not order a drink, a participation fee of ¥500 will be charged.
- Please arrive at the cafe by 1:00 PM at the latest.
- Joining midway after departure is not permitted.
- If there are fewer than three participants on the day or in case of severe weather, the event will be canceled. However, you are still welcome to visit the café and enjoy our various meetups.
- Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for walking.
- You may not bring bicycles to this meetup.
- If you wish to leave the group early, please inform the organizer.

湯島天満宮は、江戸時代から「梅の名所」として知られ、多くの人々に親しまれてきました。境内には約300本の白梅・紅梅が咲き誇り、春の訪れを告げる美しい景色が広がります。

毎年開催される湯島天神梅まつりは、学問の神様として知られる菅原道真を祀る神社で行われる、東京の春を代表する季節イベントです。期間中は奉納演芸や物産展、露店なども並び、多くの参拝客で賑わいます。

まずはカフェで英会話や国際交流を楽しみながら、リラックスした雰囲気の中で参加者同士の交流を深めましょう。

🏮梅まつり概要

🌸 梅園
境内および男坂・女坂周辺には、約300本の梅の木が植えられており、白梅・紅梅が順に見頃を迎えます。都心にありながら、梅の香りに包まれた落ち着いた雰囲気の中で散策を楽しめるのが大きな魅力です。

🌸 奉納演芸
祭り期間中の週末を中心に、奉納演芸が行われます。内容は日本舞踊、三味線、落語、詩吟など、日本の伝統文化を間近で体験できるプログラムが中心です。

🌸 物産展・露店
境内には期間限定で物産展や露店が並び、和菓子や軽食、縁起物などを楽しむことができます。お祭りらしい賑わいを感じながら、食べ歩きやお土産選びができるのも魅力のひとつです。

- こちらはガイドツアーではないため、ガイドのご案内はございません。
- 午後12時10分から1時20分までは、カフェでの交流会にご参加いただけます。
- ドリンクのラストオーダーは、出発の30分前となります。
- ドリンクのご注文がない場合は、参加費として500円を頂戴いたします。
- 遅くとも午後1時までにお越しください。
- 出発後の途中参加はできません。
- 当日、カフェ到着後に本イベントへお申し込みいただくことはできません。
- 出発後はカフェには戻らず、現地解散となります。
- 当日の参加者が3名未満の場合や荒天時は中止となりますが、その際はカフェにて各種交流会をお楽しみいただけますので、ぜひカフェまでお越しください。
