Oh gosh this is going to be fun. Looks like the weather is going to flip after this upcoming weekend. So this may be the last warm balmy winter day for a while. So please join us as we search for Raptors along the white rocks trail. ( North Teller Farms Trailhead) Also it will be good time to ask about the spring kansas trip if you are thinking about going.

Lafayette birds is a recurring event on the first Sunday of every month. Visit every month and enjoy the transition of birds throughout the seasons.

During spring migration we will start seeing migrating ducks on their way north starting as early as late February. As the spring progresses you can see some amazing birds that spent their winters in the Tropics. Often times at the feeders we will see bright orange Orioles, and bright yellow Tanagers. As the summer kicks inn our resident summer Swainson's hawks appear and will nest and fledge right over your heads in the nearby cottonwoods. Late summer and fall shorebirds often stop at the Greenlee mash, Once winter settles in a giant flock of Cackling Geese will use the frozen lakes as their roosting grounds throughout the day, as they come and go in feeding forays to the nearby fallow farm fields. Several Bald eagles will actually hunt the flock of Geese looking for stragglers. Even if you don't see the eagles you can always tell they are in the area , as the Geese will talk off in a deafening cacophony, lest they become Eagle dinner.
