Tokyo Bible Reading and Discussion

First timers are welcome! Basically, we read the Bible and discuss. We ask wondering questions and we are open-minded about ideas and impressions.

We do try to remind each other of some strategies for reading the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus. We follow the Tanakh order of the Hebrew Bible because there's a lot of fruit that comes from reading according to its genre and original order. So the Bible has 5 parts in this scheme: Torah (Teaching), Nevi'im (Prophets), Ketuvim (Writings), Gospels (Good News that Jesus is King) and the Letters.

We are currently reading Jeremiah this summer. Here's the schedule:
Jul 13-19: Jeremiah 1:1-8:3
Jul 20-26: Jeremiah 8:4-14:22
Jul 27-Aug 2: Jeremiah 15-20
Aug 3-9: Jeremiah 21-29
Aug 10-16: Jeremiah 30-33
Aug 17-23: Jeremiah 34-44
Aug 24-30: Jeremiah 45-52

We hope you can join us so that we can grow together and learn from one another. Shalom!

For this first meeting, we will do brief self-introductions, then I will describe what this group could be, and we can discuss the plan forward using a couple of possible reading plans.
