Attendance Policy:
Members who RSVP 'yes' but fail to attend the event, or who cancel their RSVP on the same day as the event, will be considered a 'no-show.' Only cancellations made in advance (before the event date) are acceptable. After three no-show instances, membership will be automatically revoked. This policy helps ensure fair opportunities for all interested participants and maintains the integrity of our RSVP system.
Seamless Event Check-In Experience
At Connect & Co, we value your time and commitment to our community. To ensure accurate attendance tracking and maintain the integrity of our RSVP system, we've implemented a simple yet effective QR code check-in process for all events.
How It Works:
Upon arrival at any Connect & Co event, our friendly event hosts will have a QR code ready on their mobile phones for quick check-in. Simply:
- Scan the QR code using your smartphone camera or QR code reader
- Enter your email address when prompted for attendance validation
- Receive instant confirmation of your check-in
This streamlined system takes less than 30 seconds and helps us maintain accurate attendance records while ensuring fair access for all community members.
Why We Use This System:
Our QR code check-in serves multiple purposes that benefit our entire community:
- Accountability: Supports our three-strike attendance policy by accurately tracking who attends versus who simply RSVPs
- Fair Access: Ensures genuine participants get priority for popular events with limited capacity
- Community Insights: Helps us understand which events resonate most with our members
- Seamless Experience: No need for printed lists or manual sign-ins - just scan and you're set
Privacy & Data Protection:
We only collect the email address you provide during check-in, which is used solely for attendance verification and community communications. Your information remains secure and is never shared with third parties.
This system perfectly aligns with our mission of creating intentional, meaningful connections by ensuring that every RSVP represents a genuine commitment to participate in our carefully curated experiences.

Building on the overwhelming success of our pioneering monthly Fika events—Tokyo's first regular Fika meetup community—we're now bringing this cherished tradition of mindful pausing to your weekly routine. Each week, we'll discover a new carefully curated café that represents the artisanal coffee movement—tranquil spaces where coffee is treated as craft, featuring single-origin beans, precise brewing methods, and passionate baristas who elevate both coffee and conversation to an art form.
# Understanding Fika: More Than Just Coffee
Fika is a Swedish ritual of slowing down. It's always social – fika is not something that you do by yourself – and typically involves a cup of coffee and a sweet bite to eat. It has been described as a social institution or even phenomena in Sweden, giving people the opportunity to meet and hang out with friends, get to know new people, or network with business folks.
What distinguishes the Swedish coffee break from our own coffee-consuming traditions is that fika is about slowing down. Coffee represents a true break, a moment to sit and contemplate on your own, or to gather with friends. It's meant to be a way to hit the pause button on work and life stress and just enjoy the moment.
While people commonly meet for fika in a café, the break can take place anywhere, including parks, meeting rooms, or even at home. In Sweden, fika is also a state of mind, an indispensable part of the day that's more about the act of socializing and its effects than the comestibles involved (although they're important too).
Our weekly Fika events embrace this beautiful Swedish tradition, creating regular opportunities where we can all take a moment to connect meaningfully over exceptional coffee and treats, while exploring Tokyo's vibrant third wave coffee scene together.
