[Online] Design x AI: How To Build and Maintain The Design System
詳細
Hey, Product Friends!
🌟 Welcome to Tokyo Design — one of the most active and largest product design communities in Japan, where design meets technology, business, and emerging tools like AI—focused on practical insights, real-world experience, and learning together.
We're kicking off a new AI X Design session dedicated to one of the most talked-about shifts in our craft right now: building and maintaining design systems with AI.
Design systems have always been hard to get right. They take time to build, and even more effort to keep alive. But AI tools like Claude, Cursor, and Figma are changing what's possible—for individual designers and teams alike.
This isn't a talk about the future. It's a live session where you'll see it happen in real time.
Are you:
💡 Curious what it actually looks like to build a design system from scratch using AI tools—live, unscripted, with the real decisions shown?
💡 Struggling to keep your design system from going stale after launch?
💡 Wondering how a single designer can now maintain a system that used to take a whole team?
You might be wondering:
- What does an AI-powered design workflow actually look like day-to-day?
- How do you go from zero to a working design system with AI—without losing intentionality?
- What's the smartest way to integrate tools like Claude, Cursor, Storybook, Pencil, Lovable and Figma into a living system?
✨Event Highlights:
Live Build Session: Watch a design system get built from zero—real decisions, real trade-offs, no slides-only
Maintenance That Lasts: Practical strategies for keeping components alive and evolving with AI
🎙️Featured Speakers:
Jeremy Hsu (徐偉智)
Topic: "The AI-Native Workflow: Exploring the Movement from Vibe Design to Vibe Code"
Jeremy has been deep in the product design trenches for almost a decade, the last four of which he's spent leading teams through the AI revolution—launching everything from disruptive search experiences to AI-first agents. He noticed a problem: the tech was outpacing the design. To bridge that gap, he started his vibe-coding journey last year and has spent this year diving even deeper into the craft. This session, he'll take you inside that journey—raw, real, and full of the behind-the-scenes decisions he usually keeps to himself.
Lisa Demchenko
Topic: "Maintaining Design Systems with AI and AI-driven UX Workflows"
Brussels-based independent product designer and UX strategist. Lisa jumped on the AI train while navigating new parenthood and a demanding workload—and quickly discovered how AI could solve one of design's oldest headaches: the gap between designers and developers. She's seen firsthand how even well-guarded design systems stagnate after launch. Now she shows how a single designer, with the right AI setup, can keep a system alive. She'll share her journey using Claude, Figma, Storybook, and Notion to build a practice that actually scales.
