Imperial Family New Year Greeting & Imperial Palace Grounds Walk & picnic 新年一般参賀

The Imperial Palace invites the general public on January 2, or Shinnen Ippan Sanga to wish the imperial family a happy new year.

After the event, we will walk around the Imperial palace grounds and have a picnic.

Meeting Time: 10:00 am (We will move at exactly 10:00 am. If possible, please try to get there about 10 minutes early.)

Meeting Spot: Nijubashimae Station (Chiyoda Line) Exit 5 street level (check photos below) Go up the stairs marked 5a or 5b.

Meetup Organization Fee: 500 yen (exact change, please)

What to bring: picnic lunch

It will be very crowded and we may have to wait for a while for our turn to go through security to enter the palace grounds. So make sure to dress warmly and go to the bathroom beforehand.
Tips for security check - do not bring 'big' bags or sharp objects, I.e. knives.
