予定です(現地解散)
Onsen Night Pedal Cruising ride
When:
- We will meet at 17:30 and then start the ride at 18:00. If you are there, you are welcome to join us in the ride. We will not pass an attendee list. So please be on time.
Where:
- You'll find us in front of United Nations University. There is a farmers market on Saturday afternoons and we meet on the sidewalk. Just look out for people with bicycles (some of them strange, e.g. tall bikes).
Route:
- From Aoyama through Shibuya to a sento in Shinagawa-ku
- Those of you who like to join us for the bath are very welcome, but not obligatory, you can return from there
- you can rent a towel or bring your own. Please also bring soap/shampoo or buy it there
- This is the sento: http://www.shimizuyu.com/ It even has a rotenburo!
- Entrance fee 550 Yen
- Tattoo ok
Duration of ride:
- The duration of the ride will depend on our speed and route, but you can drop off anytime during the ride (just let someone know so we don't think we lost you). 2-3 h is a good estimate.
- We will stop during the ride for a rest.
- Please note that in Japan you cannot bring a bicycle on the train without it being in a bag.
What to bring:
- a bicycle (with lights)
If you don't have a bicycle, you could rent one, e.g. with docomo: http://docomo-cycle.jp/shibuya/en/ - in case you want to join in for the onsen, please bring a towel (or rent it there), shampoo, soap... and some money for the entrance fee
Speed / Fitness / Skills required
- Riding speed is very relaxed (so wear warm clothes)
- But you need to be fine with riding on busy (and not so busy) Tokyo streets.
- Ride is about 15-20 km
Note, while tourists are welcome, this is not a guided tour, but a night ride through Tokyo with friendly locals and a few foreign residents (depending on actual attendees this night).
