Hi Stationery Friends!
It's our first meetup at the Hayward library! We'll be in Meeting Room C on the second floor.
It's National Novel Writing Month, and whether you're writing novels or just quick notes to yourself we want to see your favorite writing supplies! Ergonomic pens for long haul sessions? Notebooks with enough pages to hold all your ideas? Favorite clips to keep things flat, highlighters for color coding your notes, page flags for keeping track of all your "stuff happens, fill in later" placeholders?
If you're not much of a writer, what have you got that puts you in a fall mood? Jewel toned inks, markers that smell like pumpkin spice, fuzzy pen cases, stickers and washi covered with pumpkins and crunchy leaves? Whether or not the weather is cooperating, let's get into the autumn spirit.
Parking:
There is a public parking garage next to the library. The bottom floor tends to be crowded because of the Farmer's Market. The second floor usually has more parking options.
There is limited street parking along Mission next to the library (between B and C street).
There is a park on the block across from the library, between C and D street that also has limited street parking.
BART:
Get off at the Hayward station (do not go to South Hayward). When you go out the gates take a right and walk straight across the bus stops and keep walking past City Hall to Watkins Street. Turn right towards C Street and at the intersection turn left and walk down C Street. The library will be at the end of the block.
Bus:
Multiple buses stop at Hayward BART. Please check out AC Transit for more information.
The lines 60, 9 and 801 stop next to the library.
Places to eat or drink:
Zocolo coffee shares the ground floor with the library.
Peet's Coffee will be a block over from the library on B Street.
T4 boba and snacks is on B Street heading away from the BART station.
There are multiple restaurants in the area both on B and C street. If you don't mind a longer walk there are also resturants along Foothill (keep going down B or C street and you will reach Foothill).
Famers Market:
There is a Farmer's market in front of City Hall on Watkins starting at 9 am and could be a place to grab a bite or a piece of fruit.
