Hello CIKers!
Do you want to escape the summer heat without leaving Seoul? Let's cool off with a hike to the beautiful waterfalls & temples on Dobong mountain and soak our feet in the water during the hike!
Dobongsan has many valleys, that are formed by streams of water that flow down from the mountain peaks, including Munsadong Valley, Bomunsa Temple Valley, Mangwolsa Temple Valley, Dobong Valley, and Yongeocheon Valley. Munsadong Valley, Bomunsa Temple Valley, and Mangwolsa Temple Valley are the 3 biggest valleys on Mt. Dobong. These valleys flow between the rocky peaks of Mt. Dobong and boast breath-taking views, crystal clear water, and a lush green forest.
[Hike Route]
Dobong Information Center - Gubongsa temple - Seungraksa temple - Madangbawi(Rock) - Cheonchuksa temple - Dobong Information Center(6km/4hrs)
This hike will take roughly around 4 hours, depending on the speed and ability level of our group. The trail is classified moderately difficult and will cover some steep and rocky terrain, and there are sections involving stairs and metal handrails. So, you must be careful and know your hiking ability. For this hike it is extremely important to wear footwear appropriate for hiking-shoes or boots should be able to grip rocks and prevent you from slipping/falling, since the trails have some steep rocky areas. It should be a fantastic, exhilarating hike, so if you are ready for a challenge, don`t miss this great opportunity!
