GPUG - March (2017) Monthly Meetup
상세정보
- IMPORTANT: THIS MEETUP IS BEING HOSTED AT JOZIHUB ON 18 MARCH (SATURDAY), WHICH IS IN BRAAMFONTEIN. WE ARE NOT HOSTING THIS MEETUP AT ENTELECT THIS MONTH, SO PLEASE DO NOT SHOW UP THERE *
This will be our third meetup of 2017.
---
We will have 2 major talks (about 20-30 minutes) and networking time.
Attendees are welcome to attend part of the event and leave whenever they need to.
Event will start at 14:00 (but you can come slightly before that for networking/catching-up - please go to the third-floor and ask the venue-hosts which room the GPUG event will be in OR 1 of us will be there by 14.00). We will have the first talk at 14:15, with the other talk to follow and then discussion/networking time.
The following talks will be presented:
• Using Kivy + Flask to create portable, cross-platform webservers - Richard Larkin
We are currently deploying an educational application to schools in both affluent and disadvantaged communities. Mobile app stores (i.e. Android and iOS app stores) both provide/enforce centralized deployment of applications/content. Convenient, but not always ideal in 3rd world countries.
In this talk, we'll look at how we have built a Android/iOS/Linux/Windows webserver using Kivy + Flask to deploy our app in disconnected and bandwidth-challenged areas. Using Flask, you can turn your mobile device into an application + content server at the touch of a button , independently of the target platform.
• Self-driving cars and AI - Jean-Paul Wilson
Exploring the use of AI for building cars that drive themselves.
Looking at some tools: jupyter notebooks, tensorflow, openCV
Some theory behind AI and building a neural network form scratch
Evaluating results of a small project
• Networking/Q&A
We always welcome helping hands at the GPUG (and lessening the bus-factor). If you are interested in helping out in 2017, reach out to us (email, at the meetup, etc.) and we will gladly welcome your assistance for the GPUG/PyCon.
Any volunteers for the Organizing Committee will be greatly appreciated.
