그룹 소개
LoMAZ is a friendly, diverse and inclusive group of people who enjoy visiting museums, bookended by a trip to a café and a pub. Our events are run by a group of volunteers who maintain a full calendar catering to a wide range of tastes and interests. The group is for people in the age brackets of Generation X, Xennials and Millennials (born 1965-1996). If you like history, exploring places and meeting people, please come along.
How does LoMAZ work?
Events:
For each event, we meet in a nearby café 30-45 minutes earlier. We then go to the museum/exhibition, where you are free to wander around at your own pace. Afterwards, we head to a nearby pub for a social chit-chat. The café and pub social are optional, so it’s fine if you just prefer to join us for the museum visit.
Each event listing will give you all the details, plus an event WhatsApp group you can join to help you find the group.
Tickets:
If a museum/exhibition has an entry fee, you’ll need to buy your own ticket. Each event will tell you whether you need to buy this in advance and provide the ticket link.
Event attendee limit:
LoMAZ has an attendee limit per event because we prefer a smaller, friendlier group where members can get to know each other. It also helps the host manage the event and organise the pub bookings.
If an event is full, you'll be added to the waitlist. If a space becomes available, waitlisted members are automatically moved into the ‘Going’ list in order of priority.
Rules & Etiquette:
To ensure everyone gets a fair chance, we ask that you observe these points of etiquette:
- If you can no longer attend an event, please change your RSVP to "No" as soon as possible. This frees up a space for someone on the waitlist.
- Only attend if you're on the ‘Going’ list. Do not turn up if you are on the waitlist.
- Only join the event WhatsApp group if you are on the ‘Going’ list, not the waitlist.
We remove members from the LoMAZ Meetup group who:
- RSVP as ‘Going' but then do not show up three times in a row.
- RSVP as ‘Going' but then change their RSVP to 'No' five times in a row.
- Turn up at an event without being on the 'going' list (i.e. members who have not signed up or are on the waitlist).
Our group is committed to creating a respectful and safe inclusive environment for all members. Any form of discrimination, harassment, or disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated.
Respectful Communication Rule:
To maintain a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, members must not send excessive or unsolicited private messages—especially to people they haven’t met in person at an event. This includes repeated messages without a response or contacting multiple members in a short period. If we receive reports of such behaviour, it may lead to a warning or immediate removal from the group, depending on the severity. Our goal is to ensure all members feel comfortable and respected.
Best wishes,
The Admin Team

모두 보기- MUSEUM LATES FOR DATES: Straight & LGBTQIA+ singles night | British Museum + pubBritish Museum, London
A fresh take on dating for straight and LGBTQIA+ singles in their 30s, 40s and 50s, brought to you by LoMAZ. We visit a different museum on the last Friday of each month, before heading to the pub.
This month, join us for a relaxed evening of conversation and connections at the British Museum. It's just like a usual LoMAZ event except for one thing: everyone there will be single.
Come for friendship, come for dates, come along!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
6.30 - 7.00pm: MEET AND GREET IN THE GREAT COURT, BRITISH MUSEUM.
See event comments on the day of the event for the exact location.
Map- Look out for LoMAZ hosts wearing a 'host' sticker in a yellow frame and they will welcome you.
- You can choose to wear a LoMAZ logo sticker or a LoMAZ rainbow sticker, or both. Wearing stickers means everyone can see who is part of the group and helps you find us as we move around the museum. If you see someone with a LoMAZ sticker, feel free to chat to each other.
7.00 - 8.15pm: EXPLORE THE MUSEUM
- We will then explore the museum together. Hosts will always be there to chat to.
8.20pm - late: HEAD TO THE PUB
- We'll carry on the evening in a nearby pub. (Venue tbc in the event comments the day of the event.)
- As this is a free event, we can't afford to book a private space. The pub we are going to does not accept table bookings after 6pm. So please expect some standing and mingling.
