In-person, real life game play. Meet gamers from all over town! Discover new games or play old favorites with new friends.
This Meetup group is home to multiple event organizers. Each event host, better yet each TEAM of hosts (the best way!), is in charge of the events they post here.
Want to start up an ongoing event/game night, or run a special event? Either post your thoughts in the Discussion space for Portland Area Board Games and RPGs, or contact one of the Organizers/Co-Organizers on the Leadership/Organizers list (see full website/desktop view, not mobile).
Currently Meetup functions a bit differently on the mobile app vs the full website. The website gives users access to a calandar view of events, a page of all event photo albums, and different ways to sort/view members. Both means of access are handy in their own way.
In 2025 organizers began focusing the Membership of this group on active users. All are welcome to join/rejoin any time. To maintain membership users should login/make use of the Portland Area Board Games and RPGs group website at least once every 6 months. Users inactive past that time may find they need to rejoin. No worries. Should that happen to you, you will be welcomed back. :)

Portland Veggie Board Gamers (with Portland Metro Veggies!)
Mox Boarding House, 1938 W Burnside street ,, Portland , OR, USThis event is co-organized with Portland Metro Veggies, Portland's largest meetup group for vegan, vegetarian, and veg-curious folks.
Veggie board gamers come together to eat, play games and make friends. (We also enjoy just chatting, and recommending restaurants to each other.) Come learn new games and meet new people, every Monday. This event is also listed in the Portland Metro Veggies group, and most people RSVP there, but you can RSVP to either one.
FOOD
You don't have to be vegan/vegetarian to join us, attendees must order vegan food, according to Portland Metro Veggies policy. The menu at Mox Boarding House includes several labeled vegan options, and some items can be modified. The staff is knowledgeable and can answer questions about the menu. Menu items change a few times a year. Let's advocate for even more vegan options!GAMES
Bring a game if you can!
We tend to play party games and other light games, but strategy games and other medium-weight games are welcome too. I always bring a variety of games. Mox also has a free library of games available to borrow for the night.Past plays include games like Codenames, Forbidden Island, Ticket to Ride, Camel Up, Just One, Dixit, Deep Sea Adventure, Chameleon, Splendor, and Azul.
LOGISTICS
Please join us any time throughout the evening. We are usually seated in the back restaurant area at one of the long tables. Look for the short green sign that says "Veggie Board Games". Once we have a table, I will leave a comment below indicating where we are seated. If you arrive late and can't find us, send me a chat message through Meetup or comment on the page, and I will do my best to respond.Please keep your RSVP (going/ not going) up to date. This event is also posted under Portland Metro Veggies as "Vegan Board Game Night". You can RSVP for either or both events.

CORE - Collective Oregon Eateries, 3612 SE 82nd Ave, Portland, OR, USEvery Tuesday join us as we dive into the world of gaming at CORE Food Carts. No need to worry about rain, too much sun or a strong breeze because we’ll be set up in their large indoor space equipped with copious number of tables perfect for gaming and safe from the weather.

👌That’s totally natural.New games started about every 15 min or so, so it doesn’t matter what time you arrive we’ll have something for you to do. Also we are happy to teach you a new game.
The thing that’s fantastic about attending board game events is it takes out the stress of not knowing what to talk about. Simply talk about the games, ask how to play the games, learn, laugh, strategize and enjoy in this welcoming environment surrounded by delicious food.
If you’re new to town or simply would like to expand your friend group this can be a great, low stress way to meet new friends!
If you’re new to games, this is a judgement free zone and board gamers are happy to take the time to explain and teach and, in all truth, love to share their hobby with new people. Because, board games are the best games.
Heavy weight games & gamers welcome as well! While its not required, and people have brought & stared heavy weight games on the fly, because of the time commitment for a game like this you may want join our Discord to gain interest for your game and get a time set up for others to play.
Newbies and veteran board gamers are always welcome!
🍔WHAT IS CORE?
Collective Oregon Eateries, also known as CORE, is a indoor/outdoor community gathering and food cart space that is located along 82nd Avenue.

The indoor space is quite large, 6,500 square feet to be exact with ample amount of large tables perfect for gaming! Also provides clean bathrooms and will soon have indoor bar!
Outdoors is a variety of delicious food carts to enjoy! We highly recommend sampling the bounty. See photos attached to this event to see how amazing this venue is.
