We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you from 08:30-10:30 on Thursday morning.

Whether you're working on a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem, or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.

Optional socializing happens at the beginning and end of the session. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.

Being late is okay. Just show up and get settled – we'll be downstairs in the basement space – then check in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write!® sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.

**WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING?**
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to listen to your own music or block out background noise or music playing in the cafe.
If you're writing on your laptop, be sure it's fully charged, as there's no guarantee you'll have an outlet nearby (2–3 outlets at the corners of the room). The café does not have free wi-fi, I will provide internet via tethering. Please refrain from downloading, uploading and/or streaming large, high quality content.

Please be prepared to order a beverage and/or snack to thank our hosts and support an independent business. Order at the counter once you pick your seat. Please let me know if this is an issue.

**OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS**
The venue is **not** step-free, there is one step into the front door and there is one flight of stairs downstairs for our workspace and restroom. The space has a mix of stool-counter seating (4), desk-height table and backed chairs (4) and backed chairs with low tables (2). If you need a specific kind of seat please let me know and I'll reserve it for you.
Parking can be tight and/or expensive here, so consider other options than driving. Bike parking is available across the street.

セッションの最初と最後には、参加者同士の任意的な交流があります。執筆は非常に孤独な作業です。他の作家と交流（時には共感し合うこと）を持つことは、素晴らしいことです。

遅刻は大丈夫です。到着して落ち着いてください。地下のスペースにいますので、セッション終了後に私に連絡してください。（「Shut Up & Write!」のサインを持っているのが私です。）時間通りに到着された方は、遅刻してきた方のために場所を空けてあげて下さい。

執筆に必要なものは十分！

ご自身の音楽を聴きたい方、又はカフェ内で流れている音楽を遮断したい方は、イヤホンまたは耳栓をご持参下さい。

ノートパソコンで執筆される場合は、近くにコンセントがあるとは限りませんので、必ず充電済んでしてください（部屋の隅っこに2～3個のコンセントがあります）。カフェには無料Wi-Fiはありませんが、テザリングでインターネットを提供します。パスワードは不要です。大容量で高品質なコンテンツのダウンロード、アップロード、ストリーミングはご遠慮下さい。

**Coworking for writers in your area**

Join us for some focused writing time on Thursdays ....All writers and all experience levels are welcome, and don’t worry, no one will see what you've written. This session is about getting your writing done and meeting other writers in your area.

When you show up, say hello to everyone, grab a drink, and get your writing tools ready. Once you’re all settled, take some time to chat with your fellow writers. Once everyone’s arrived, I will lead quick introductions and then set the timer for our quiet and focused writing session.
Afterward, we’ll have time to chat and get to know each other. We often talk about our successes and challenges as writers. If you don’t have time to stick around, no worries!

**A note about the format**
We don’t host critiques or readings. These events are a safe space for writers of all skill levels and genres to work on their craft, so no one will read or critique your writing.

We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers.

We generally do 2 consecutive 1-hour sessions, with a break halfway.

Feel free to drop in and drop out whenever necessary: adapt it to your schedule :D !

Only requirement: introduce yourself with the camera turned on (at start, break, final checkpoint, or even in the chat). This fosters a sense of connection and community - just to know who's the fellow in the nearby desk :D
