Animeju and Ghibli Exhibition in Seoul!
상세정보
I'm not an 'otaku' --- but some of my friends are so I've grown anime-curious. :) The famous Ghibli Studios is having a long running exhibition in Seoul... making it the perfect chance to dive in. Having never really been exposed to anime at any point, I'm looking forward to experiencing this exhibition with some fans and hearing what artworks have impacted them over the years. Come check out the exhibit, mingle with others and share about your favorites. The exhibit takes about an hour to explore, and we'll go for dinner afterward.
- PLEASE NOTE: The meetup is free but the exhibition is not. You'll need to buy tickets- buying online beforehand would be smart. Adult tickets are w22,000. Tickets can be purchased at Interpark:
- I also saw them discounted for w16,500 on Waug at https://abr.ge/hnd879
From Waug: 'The magical world of Studio Ghibli, the film that brought us childhood innocence and warm emotions, unfolds in Yongsan, Seoul! "Animage and Ghibli Exhibition: The Secret of Studio Ghibli's Birth" is a special exhibition that sheds light on the deep connection between "Animage," the animation magazine that launched Studio Ghibli, and directors Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata, and allows you to experience the behind-the-scenes story of Ghibli's birth.
Discover the birth process and hidden stories of timeless masterpieces like Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Castle in the Sky, and My Neighbor Totoro. Through rare materials like early sketches, cels, and image boards, you can vividly glimpse how Ghibli works were brought to life. This is a must-see for Ghibli fans, and we recommend tickets to the Yongsan "Animeju and Ghibli Exhibition" to anyone who wants to gain a deeper understanding of the beautiful world of animation and the secrets behind its creation!'
From the Seoul Guide: 'A visually immersive exhibition featuring hand-drawn Animage magazine covers, original production sketches, storyboards, character designs, and 3D models tracing the roots of Studio Ghibli through iconic works such as My Neighbor Totoro, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Castle in the Sky, and Kiki’s Delivery Service. You'll see adorable Studio Ghibli artwork, concept sketches, and even rare materials from the Animage magazine, all in one place. Photo zones are scattered throughout, making it feel like you've stepped into a Ghibli film, perfect for commemorative shots. The exhibition takes about 60 minutes to complete.'
