The Auckland Amazon Web Services Community is a group dedicated to cloud services provided by Amazon. Because we are specific to Amazon Web Services (AWS), we can go deep into some of the technical services provided by AWS and get some really great insights into how their services work.
This group is for beginner's, pro's and everything in between we will be tackling basic concepts, technical breakdowns and user stories.
If you want to put your application in the cloud and have already chosen AWS, or if you already have applications in the AWS cloud, then this is a great group to get helpful insights and advice from other group members. Also we would love to invite you to speak if you're interested in sharing some of your experiences.
The Auckland AWS Community is all about AWS, so if you want to fast track your network and skills with AWS then this is the group for you.

At the August AWSAKL Meetup, we'll be joined by Walter Lim, Design Lead at Watchful, an AI company working at the intersection of physical security, computer vision and large language models.Walter will be sharing insights from his experience using AWS Rekognition and LLMs to support real-world security operations — from what went smoothly to the unexpected challenges.

Walter Lim, Design Lead at WatchfulWalter is a cross-functional designer with over 7 years of experience spanning UX research, product design, and front-end engineering. Having worked across startups and multinational corporates, Walter is passionate about building real, working products that deliver meaningful outcomes for users. From boosting accessibility in enterprise apps to helping B2B SaaS platforms reduce churn through better usability, Walter’s work is grounded in the belief that truly impactful design earns the right to exist by delivering value where it matters most.

Go up the escalators and you will see the Spectra cafe and PWC reception on the right. Walk through the lobby behind you and turn right towards the elevators. Take the lift to level 13.
