Join us for an evening of cross-cultural music with SilkBeat—a unique duo blending Peruvian and Chinese influences in a way you don’t hear every day.
Featuring JChris (vocals/piano) and Qi Yu on the Chinese zither (guzheng), SilkBeat performs with a full band, weaving together sounds from Latin America and East Asia.
The repertoire includes new arrangements of traditional music alongside original compositions in Spanish and Chinese, shaped by pentatonic melodies, Eastern timbres, Afro-Peruvian grooves, cajón rhythms, and elements of modern composition.
