Brooklyn Women's Writing Group

Join us in the Brooklyn Public Library's Bedford Branch every other Thursday for an hour of uninterrupted writing! Please bring a computer or old-fashioned notebook and pen/pencil to work on your choice of personal project. Need some inspiration? We'll offer prompts to get you started on something new.

From 6-6:15 pm we'll do introductions and discuss what each of us hopes to accomplish. Then we'll have an hour of heads-down writing time, wrapping up with optional sharing and further discussion 7:15-7:30 pm.

The Bedford Library (496 Franklin Ave) is just a short walk from the C & S trains' Franklin stop. If needed, you can enter from the ground floor on the right side of the building; there's an elevator just inside the entrance.

We'll be in the upstairs meeting room, to the right on the second floor. Feel free to take the elevator or the staircase just behind the librarians' desk.

We are so excited to offer an additional in-person writing meetup! We will meet on Saturdays from 1:30-3pm at City League Coffee Roasters (formerly known as "Blend") in Bay Ridge at 6808 4th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11220.

We'll be meeting for an hour and a half to write our own personal projects, starting and ending with 15-minute discussions.

Bring a computer or pen/pencil and notebook--whatever you like to write with!

If you have a writing project/practice that you'd like to bring in to work on, please do. If you don't, that's great too! We will provide a few prompts and exercises to get things started.

Travel to and from City League Coffee Roasters with a short walk from the R-line by train and the B9, B63, and B64 bus lines. Our storefront is right off the Bay Ridge Ave train station on the R line.

We are meeting on ZOOM! Meetings are still formatted to allow 15 minutes of sharing, one hour of writing, and a 15-minute wrap-up chat at the end.

We are currently offering writing sessions online Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 PM and Sundays from 1:30 to 3 PM.
