Development of Semantic Models for Self-Service and AI
This session covers how to design semantic models that support self-service analytics and AI use cases. I will share Oregon State University’s journey migrating to a new data platform and key lessons learned along the way. The talk focuses on practical design patterns, including the use of Medallion Architecture and Direct Lake semantic models, to build scalable and trusted semantic models. We will also highlight how good metadata and clear model descriptions enable better AI adoption and future automation.
