Jeongdong is a unique and lively area in the heart of Seoul where traditional architecture and palaces coexist with modern buildings. Through this tour, you will explore beautiful Korean architecture while also getting a glimpse of Korea’s colonial era history. Join Korean university student guides for a tour of Deoksugung Palace and its famous stonewall walkway, the historical Baejae Academy, and other nearby landmarks.
✨ Course Introduction
Through this tour, we explore Jeongdong to witness the sites of Korea’s turbulent modern history. Our journey begins at Deoksugung Palace, the heart of the Korean Empire, and continues along the Stonewalll Path to visit the Baejae Academy, Korea’s first modern secondary school. We will conclude the tour at Jungmyeongjeon Hall, where we reflect on the beginning of the Japanese colonial era.
