Patrouille de France Flyover! (~7 miles)
상세정보
On Tuesday, June 9 around 10:30 a.m., the Patrouille de France will treat New Yorkers to an exceptional aerial display, flying over the Hudson River to the Statue of Liberty.
Let's view it from the closest vantage point on land in Liberty State Park.
We will meet at the Paulus Hook NY Waterways ferry terminal to use the restrooms, then walk over to the Liberty Landing ferry on Warren Street to catch the 9:53 boat to Liberty State Park - a $2/ 2 minute ride/best to have cash.
If coming from Manhattan, you can take the 8:47am Path train from World Train Center to Newark, getting off at Exchange Place. Proceed up the escalator and turn left once outside to walk 5 minutes along the waterfront to meet us.
We must leave PROMPTLY at 9:30am to catch the boat. No exceptions.
If you are running late, head straight to the Liberty Landing terminal at Warren Street here.
If you are coming from NJ by car, you can meet us in the park. (please DM me for details)
We will then walk the beautiful waterfront and pause across from the Statue for primo viewing of the flyover. Once complete, we will continue our walk to the southern end of the park for a lunch break at the picnic tables. NOTE THERE IS NO PLACE TO BUY FOOD IN THE PARK SO BRING YOUR OWN.
We'll then continue looping the park, stopping at the Nature Interpretive Center for a last restroom stop before heading on to downtown Jersey City.
There are several return options:
- for a shorter walk, take the Liberty Landing Ferry where we disembarked back to Brookfield Place terminal, noting boats leave hourly on the half hour (Seniors $6, Adults $10).
- walk to the Grove Street Path station to catch trains heading east to either 33rd Street or World Trade Center OR west to Journal Square/ Newark.
If you are bringing a guest, please have them sign the waiver here.
Bring sunscreen, bug spray, water, snacks/ lunch. There are places to refill your water bottle in the park. Also note we will be walking almost entirely in full sun so a hat is strongly advised.
Do NOT drop comments on MeetUp day of walk as I won't see them. Instead TEXT (don't call) at 917-847-9014.
