우리에 대해
Hi everyone!
Welcome to TokéToké Busan, a friendly language & culture exchange community in Yeonje-gu, Busan ✨
Whether you're an expat wanting to practice Korean or a Korean wanting to improve English, this is a relaxed space where real conversations and international friendships happen naturally.
-------------
[Additional Information]
The Sunday language exchange was recently started, so the number of participants is still small. If you prefer a smaller group, Sunday might be a good option for you.
The Thursday language exchange usually has around 15–20 people in total (both foreigners and Koreans), though the number can vary each time.
-------------
⭐ WHAT MAKES TOKÉTOKÉ DIFFERENT?
• New conversation topics every meetup
• Interactive games & speaking activities
• Organizer-prepared discussion materials
• Comfortable and welcoming atmosphere
This is not a traditional academy.
Instead, learning happens naturally through real conversations, cultural exchange, and practical language use.
Many members find this format easier and more effective for improving speaking confidence.
-------------
🌍 MORE THAN SMALL TALK
We focus on meaningful conversations and genuine connections — not just introductions.
You can expect:
• Balanced Korean–English interaction
• Friendly international community
• Regular returning members
-------------
👥 WHO IS THIS FOR?
• Expats & travelers who want real Korean practice
• Koreans who want natural English conversation
• Anyone interested in cultural exchange
-------------
OPTIONAL KOREAN PRACTICE GROUP (Separate from Language Exchange)
For members who want extra Korean practice,
we also host a community-based Korean study & practice group.
The sessions are facilitated by a close colleague of the organizer who has over 15 years of Korean language education experience and holds a Level 2 Korean Language Teaching Certificate.
• Small group participation
• Community-prepared materials
• Communication-focused practice
Occasional guidance or brief explanations about expressions or grammar may be shared, but this is a community learning activity rather than a formal academy class.
Community Package:
Korean practice (1 hr/week) + Language exchange (2 hrs/week) → 60,000 KRW / month
Practice group only:
Once a week (2 hrs) → 80,000 KRW / month
Twice a week (4 hrs) → 150,000 KRW / month
-------------
🌱 SMALL BUT STRONG COMMUNITY
We focus on quality interaction rather than becoming a massive meetup.
Actual attendance is often higher than RSVP numbers thanks to our active members.

A New Format Starting This Sunday — Insight Talk
Hi everyone, thank you for always being a part of this community!
Starting this Sunday, we're trying something new.
We're calling it Insight Talk.
[ What's changing? ]
Insight Talk is a format where we read and discuss short content together — YouTube talks, articles, or book excerpts — either in advance or on the spot, and share our thoughts in Korean, English, or any other language.
The goal isn't just conversation practice.
It's about building the ability to express what you actually think in another language.
[ Is it difficult? ]
Not at all. No preparation needed.
We'll provide a discussion worksheet on the spot, along with a summary of the content.
It doesn't matter if your English isn't perfect, or your Korean is still developing.
Starting with one short sentence is more than enough.
[ Why this format? ]
Games give you a moment of fun.
Conversation leaves you with something to think about.
When you move between two languages around the same topic,
you end up gaining far more than just vocabulary.
[ What about difficulty level? ]
Our group is wonderfully diverse — different nationalities, different language levels.
Every time we try something new, it takes some thought to make it work for everyone.
This time, we're starting with an intermediate-friendly discussion format, and we plan to gradually introduce beginner and advanced versions as we go.
We're building this as we go, and your feedback will shape it!
Our first topic is: "Why do I have no motivation to do anything?"
If you've ever felt that way after a long week — this one's for you.
It might feel a little unfamiliar at first, but come as you are.
Let's build this together.
Hope to see you there!
