A local network of agroecological producers: The Katuma.org case

Katuma.org (http://katuma.org/) is an online platform that connects buyer groups with local producers of agroecological products.

They adopt a cooperative model, which means that ownership of the platform and its own management fall in the people and organizations involved: local producers, buyers consumers, distributors and the consumers.

The association coopdevs (http://coopdevs.org/) drives Katuma platform from the technological point of view. In this meetup we will talk about how we can find the economic viability of projects with the values of free software and cooperativism.

Their software is based on Open Food Network (https://github.com/openfoodfoundation/openfoodnetwork), a free software project which enables the creation of a network of independent online food stores that connect farmers and food hubs.
