Wat we doen
The Dutch Language Café is the place in The Hague where people of many different nationalities can come together, feel at home, have fun, get to know each other and learn Dutch. All information can be found at: www.dutchlanguagecafe.com
Since July 2024, and thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign, we have our own café in the centre of The Hague! Come by, drink coffee, play games, and have a chat, even outside of the usual events! We are open Wednesday to Saturday 11:00-23:00 and Sunday 12:00-17:00, and we're located at Herengracht 13A.

That’s right! The DLC has its own chess club in which we will play chess every two weeks!
### What will we do?
At the chess club, I will give tips to improve your personal chess skills, we will solve (sometimes) tricky chess puzzles and we will play informal chess games. Is chess completely new to you or are you just starting out? You are more than welcome to join us! We will be happy to teach you. 😊

The chess club will last from 19:00 to 21:00 but you don’t mind playing longer! The cafe is officially closed, but we can stay until 22:30.
### Dutch Level
Chess is, of course, a mind sport. But outside the games we can talk Dutch! After each chess game, you have the chance to discuss the game in Dutch with your opponent. And of course you can also talk about other things than chess when you are not playing :). When speaking we try to speak mostly Dutch, but we speak slowly and help you along the way. If you are comfortable with a basic level of Dutch, this event is good for you! It certainly doesn’t have to be perfect. We are all there to learn :).

Dutch Language Café hosts a Pub Quiz every Friday from 19:30. The quiz starts at 20:00 and lasts until around 21:45.
👥 At DLC, teams are formed randomly, so feel free to come alone or with a few friends and meet new people.
❓The quiz questions are asked in both Dutch and English, and you can answer in either language. It's a fun, fast paced quiz with a range of topics!
💸 Participation costs €19,50 per person (€10 for native Dutch speakers), including a drink, or is free for DLC members.

Dutch Language Café organiseert elke vrijdag vanaf 19:30 een PubQuiz. De quiz begint om 20:00 en duurt tot ca. 21:45.👥 Bij DLC word je team willekeurig samengesteld, dus kom gerust alleen of met een paar vrienden en ontmoet nieuwe mensen.
❓ De quizvragen worden gesteld in het Nederlands en Engels, en je kunt in beide talen antwoorden. Het is een leuke, snelle quiz met een variatie aan onderwerpen!
