Welcome to our group on Fintech and Artificial Intelligence in Finance.
We are a group of researchers and practitioners interested in those topics.
Some of the activities we are involved in:

Welcome to the AI meetup in Zurich, in collaboration with Zalando. Join us for deep dive tech talks on AI, GenAI, LLMs and Agentic AI, hands-on experiences on code labs, workshops, and networking with speakers and fellow developers.

Tech Talk: “seeing” body shapes with computer vision and AI
Speaker: Sahan Ayvaz (Sr Applied Scientist, Zalando)
Abstract: Fashion differs from other e-commerce categories, as articles come in different sizes and consumers have their individual preferences for how they should fit. In brick and mortar shops, consumers try on a variety of items before making their buying decisions. In e-commerce, they try things on at home and send back what they do not like or what does not fit. To reduce returns related to size and fit, we need to recreate the connection between tailors looking at their customers as they walk into their stores - this connection was lost in the digital shopping experience.
This talk is about “seeing” customer body shapes with computer vision and other AI methods in a way that ensures data privacy, making recommendations based on what we see, and ultimately enabling virtual try-on.

Midterm Meeting
During the week of May 19-23, we will host the Project Midterm Meeting (Milestone MS9), at the University of Twente (The Gallery; for rooms, please check the schedule).
The evaluation sessions will take place on May 20 and 21, with the participation of our Project Officer on May 21. On May 19, 22, and 23, we will kick off the technical training.
