Join our Call for Code launch event, to unite as developers in solving pressing global problems with sustainable software solutions, and having a chance to win 200,000 USD cash prize.

Launch event
During this meetup we will explain what Call for Code is about, followed by an introduction of the Dutch Red Cross to elaborate further on the main challenges of disaster preparedness. They will explain you where your help is mostly needed, so you get the right inspiration to start with.

We will end with a more technical in depth session, where we'll show how you can build applications to improve disaster preparedness, build resilient communities, and safeguard the health and wellbeing of individuals and institutions.

IBM developer advocates will be there to provide coding /topic examples and answer your questions to help you getting started.

What is Call for Code in short?

  • Call for Code is organized by David Clark Cause. IBM joins as founding partner, together with the UN and the Red Cross.
  • It's an annual event designed to rally the global technology community to use your coding skills and the latest technology innovation from IBM to solve society’s most complex and pressing problems.
  • You can submit your idea till August 31 and it will be judged by the world’s most renowned technologists. The grand prize will be presented in October at a UN and International Red Cross sponsored event.

What's in it for you?

  • As developer you get access to IBM Watson, Cloud, blockchain and IoT technologies as well as free code and training to jump start efforts.
  • Award winners will receive a financial prize and have the opportunity to present to leading VCs, and the winning solution will be deployed on the ground by IBM’s Corporate Service Corps –in communities most in need around the world.
