Meetup with Jason Bruges: Art, Architecture & Design

Details
We are excited to host Jason Bruges at our next meetup – a partnership between the Master Digital Design with the Media Architecture Biennale 2020.
Jason Bruges Studio has become internationally renowned for producing innovative installations, interventions, and ground-breaking works. This practice involves creating interactive spaces and surfaces that sit between the world of architecture, site-specific installation art, and interaction design. Considered a pioneer of this hybrid in-between space, Jason has subsequently paved the way for a new genre of design studios, artists and designer-makers.
At this meetup, Jason will lift the lid into the ways of working of his studio. While showcasing concrete examples of the studio's work, Jason will reflect on how all of these multidisciplinary teams work together and how they approach different types of commissioned work (commercial vs urban intervention vs artistic).
More about Jason Bruges Studio
Some of Jason Bruges Studio’s high-profile recent projects include a monumental kinetic installation for Culture Mile (City of London) and an epic urban-scale intervention for Hull 2017 in which industrial robots performed choreographies with light. Among their most celebrated pieces, there’s the site-specific light installation based in the main nave of York Minster, the multi-sensorial permanent artwork for Le Grand Musée du Parfum in Paris, and an immersive installation in Denmark that represents 12 million migratory birds and their unique landscape.
