## Fostering a deeper sense of connection with ourselves and others
The Buddha taught that true happiness arises from a heart trained in wisdom and boundless care.
In this 8-week course, we will enter deeply into the practice of the Four Immeasurables (brahmavihāras): loving-kindness, compassion, appreciative joy, and equanimity— practical skills for everyday life.
These timeless practices offer powerful tools for improving mental health, strengthening emotional resilience, and fostering a deeper sense of connection with yourself and others.
Through traditional teachings, guided meditation, and contemplation, participants will learn how these practices purify the mind, soften the heart, and lead to a happiness that is stable, profound, and not dependent on conditions.
The Four Immeasurables are central to the Buddha’s path of liberation, supporting ethical living, mental clarity, and deep inner peace.
Over eight weeks, we will explore:
- Loving-kindness as the foundation of fearlessness and goodwill
- Compassion as the courageous response to suffering for ourselves and others
- Appreciative joy as an antidote to comparison, envy, and discouragement
- Equanimity as the wisdom that holds all experience with care and without bias
This course is suitable for both new and experienced practitioners who wish to ground their lives more fully in the Teachings of the Buddha.
Participants are invited to discover the Four Immeasurables not merely as ideas, but as ways of being—pathways to a liberated heart and a life of genuine peace.
Led by instructors with many years of experience of these teachings, each session consists of:
- An exposition of the teachings of the Buddha as they apply to everyday life
- Meditation practice
- Time for contemplation
- Group discussions and Q&A, offering you the opportunity to explore the teachings and practices in an open supportive environment.
