This month we'll be having Damien from Ephox talk to us about what's in store for TinyMCE the WYSIWYG editor for WordPress. After that we'll have Dion talk to us about what's new in the next release of WordPress.

WYSIWYG Futures

The content authoring interface is at the core of every WordPress implementation. It is where WordPress users spend most of their productive time. Yet many authors come away with a frustrating experience. Damien looks at the past, present and future of WYSIWYG editing, how Ephox is addressing many of the challenges and deliver awesome authoring experiences. He'll talk about what the future holds for authoring and how that applies to TinyMCE inside WordPress.

Damien Fitzpatrick is the Senior Director of Products at Ephox. Ephox is the company behind TinyMCE, the WYSIWYG editor inside WordPress. Ephox has been developing web-based WYSIWYG editors in Brisbane for the last 16 years and recently merged with Moxiecode, the original creators of TinyMCE. Damien himself has been working with rich text editors for the last 14 years.

What's New WP!

Dion will talk about what's (kinda) news in latest updates to WordPress. Dion is a Lead Developer for WordPress at Automattic and is one of the Meetup and WordCamp organisers.
