Workshop: Resilience in Writing

Please join us for a special event: multi-genre author Natali Simmonds will host a workshop on resilience in writing! Any author will face rejection at various stages of their career – but how to manage it and stay positive? Natali will tackle this and related subjects, like facing criticism, together with you.

What to expect?

Writing a book isn't easy - and getting it published is even harder. To be an author you need plenty of skill and experience, as well as tenacity and resilience, because rejection is a large part of the job (no matter at what stage of your career). In this workshop Natali will be discussing what it takes to stay positive and focused. She will discuss what type of rejection and criticism authors face, how to manage disappointment while looking after your mental health, and tips on resilience and developing a thick skin. By the end of the workshop participants will leave enthused and well-equipped to deal with both the highs and lows of author life!

About Natali:
Natali Simmonds is a multi-genre author. Her latest thriller, Good Girls Die Last (Headline), is being turned into a TV series by STV, and as N J Simmonds she writes fantasy including the trilogy The Path Keeper, Son of Secrets, and Children of Shadows (shortlisted for the 2022 RNA Fantasy Award). She's also one half of paranormal romance author duo, Caedis Knight. As well as being an author, Natali is a brand consultant for a number of entertainment brands, has a column in Kings College London's Inspire The Mind magazine, and lectures for Raindance Film School and various universities. Originally from London, she now divides her time between the UK, Spain, and the Netherlands.
