Hey MATLABers! Are you dealing with isolation due to COVID-19 and do you miss connecting to your fellow MATLABers or simply coding together? MATLAB Coders is moving online to help you!

Let's start this event with a pop! If you join us from the Netherlands we will send you a packet of popcorn that you can make before the event. So you have a nice snack to eat during the tech talks. To get your popcorn fill out this form: https://forms.gle/aVqCqyv7mNKuxJXj6

Title: Tech Talk #1 - Multiphase Oil Measurements with MATLAB
Presenters: Ralf Olieslagers, Embedded Software Engineer and Ernst van der Pols, Development Engineer Software at KROHNE New Technologies

Short Description: Multiphase oil flow measurement at oil production sites requires an easy way to adjust the measurement algorithms in an explosion safe instrument. Matlab-based code generation enables physicists to have their models quickly implemented for oil wells with varying flow conditions. Benefits and challenges that occur on the boundary of simulation and embedded implementation are discussed.

Title: Tech Talk #2 -Integrating tiled maps in MATLAB applications
Presenter: Nanne van der Zijpp, founder of Modelit
Short Description: Many legacy Matlab GUI’s display spatial data but lack a true zoomable background map. Visualizing data against a background layer that contains a map or areal photography helps users to quickly check and interpret data presented to them.

Nowadays many public and even free resources exist that provide high quality maps, aerial photography, or relevant contextual information for various disciplines. For content providers, a scalable and therefore attractive way to distribute content is through a so-called Web Map Tile Service (WMTS). A WMTS prepares server-side tiles for each zoom level. Tiles have a typical size of 256x256 pixels. Clients can then retrieve and cache the tiles that are needed for a specific view.

Title: 3D Animation of Single and Multi-Agent Systems with MATLAB
Presenter: Rodney Rodrigues Robles, Senior Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineer at Airbus Defence and Space
Short Description: In this presentation, you will learn how to code lightweight 3D animations with MATLAB® to help you visualize the complicated motion and dynamics of Single and Multi-Agent systems. These 3D animations are very useful to either visualize the outputs of a simulation environment, to visualize a posteriori recorded test data or just to incorporate illustrative videos and GIFs into your technical presentations. With easy examples, you will learn how to use MATLAB's graphical object transformations and grouping functions to easily animate objects displayed with plot and patch functions.

Use-cases you will see:

  1. Visualization of flight simulation data of a canard-delta-wing aircraft configuration
  2. Visualization of multi-agent systems: Autonomous Air-to-Air Refueling simulation
