Accessibility matters (for all)!
What does it really mean to depend on digitally accessible applications in everyday life?
We begin the evening with an introduction that brings this question to life. It will give visitors a better understanding of the practical challenges people face when digital products and services are not designed to be accessible.

We then turn our attention to the design process. Through practical examples, we show how digital accessibility can be considered from the very first design decisions. Because accessibility works best when it is part of the foundation, rather than something added at the end.

We conclude with a talk by Jeffrey de Looff, a passionate mobile app developer with twelve years of experience. Jeffrey will share the challenges his team encountered and the work they have done to make the MijnKPN app more accessible. He will take us through the entire process, from design and development to delivering accessible features to MijnKPN users. His examples will cover colours, spacing, responsiveness, theming, voice control and keyboard navigation.
Investing in accessibility benefits everyone, not just a small group of users. Ignoring it can exclude people and may also come at a considerable cost.
