Database integration for R and agent based modelling

Hannes Mühleisen will discuss his work on integration of the analytics-optimized database MonetDB and R, which allows you to handle data stored in the database like a local data.frame object.
He will present the state of this work and is eager to hear suggestions from the community.

Gerben Bas will talk about his work on agent based modelling of supply chains using a graph database (Neo4j). He will discuss the the reasons for adopting a graph-based modeling approach, and will show how an R connector to the Neo4j database is used to visualize complex model results using the ggplot2 and the maps packages.
