Session 1:
Speaker: Evert Bleijendaal
Title: A Service-Oriented approach to Infrastructure as Code
Many engineers spend their precious time writing Bicep templates that have already exist within their company. What if you had Bicep files that everyone in your company could find and use?
In this talk, I'll cover the considerations to take when writing bicep files to make sure they're usable for other engineers. You'll discover why you might want to treat your IaC files as a product and what it means to see your fellow engineers as customers. I'll talk about how you can help others deliver value more quickly and efficiently by utilizing tools like:

  • Modular Bicep modules
  • Parameter files
  • User-defined types

So join me on this journey to discover how you can safely deploy the same Bicep files to multiple environments, allowing us to save time and effort. You won't need a complete overhaul of your code base, with these steps you can start improving your code and processes tomorrow!

Session 2:
Speaker: John Lokerse
Title: Accelerate building infrastructure with Azure Verified Modules
In this session, we will explore everything around Azure Verified Modules, a powerful set of Azure Bicep or Terraform templates. These sets of templates are built and maintained by Microsoft to set a standardisation for infrastructure as code templates and to elevate the quality of deployments.
Azure Verified Modules are pre-built, tested, and WAF-aligned IaC templates that facilitate the deployment and management of Azure resources. These modules aim to streamline the development process by providing reusable and secure templates, reducing the need for custom coding, and minimising errors.
