## Between Worlds — Philosophy Discussions Meetup

A space for thoughtful conversations about what it means to build a life between cultures, identities, and chapters.
Enrich your mindset, exchange perspectives on life, question what is settled, and engage in fundamental conversations.
This is not a lecture, and it’s not networking.
It’s a space to pause, think, and explore meaningful questions together — through different perspectives and lived experiences.

## What we explore

Each session centers around a question connected to living “between worlds”, such as:

  • Who are we when everything familiar changes?
  • What does belonging really mean?
  • When are you intergrated in Dutch culture? and what does that even mean?
  • How does living abroad expand your horizon?
  • The common faillures and unseen weight of adapting
  • Why startin over isn't starting from scratch?
  • How do we rebuild identity in a new environment?
  • What do we keep, and what do we let go of?

Participants are welcome to bring their own questions — often, the most powerful conversations start there.

## How it works

We follow a simple structure to create space for everyone:

  1. Topic selection
Participants propose questions, and we choose one together at the beginning.
  2. Opening round
Everyone briefly introduces themselves and shares an initial thought or feeling about the topic.
  3. Open discussion
    We explore the question together.
To keep things balanced, we create a speaking flow so everyone who wants to contribute has space.
  4. Closing round
Each person shares a final reflection — what stayed with them, shifted, or opened.
  5. Optional informal time
After the circle, you’re welcome to stay and connect more casually.

## The spirit of the space

This space is built on:

  • Curiosity over certainty
  • Listening as much as speaking
  • Exploring, not convincing
  • Respect for different perspectives and experiences

We may challenge ideas — but never the person behind them.

## Practical guidelines

To help create a safe and meaningful experience:

  • Please arrive on time so we can start and move together as a group
  • If you can’t attend, cancel in advance to allow others to join
  • Keep your camera on (if online) to support connection and trust
  • Join with your name visible so we can recognize each other
  • This is not a space for promotion, sales, or self-marketing

Most importantly:
Come as you are, but with openness and respect for others.
