Discovering the Hoeksche Waard by bicycle :)

Join us for a relaxed and scenic cycling tour through the Hoeksche Waard, a beautiful island full of nature, history, and peaceful countryside roads.

This island has been shaped by the St. Elisabeth’s Flood of 1421, and it is interesting to learn how land and water have coexisted ever since. We’ll start from Dordrecht and cycle around 55 km, mostly flat, taking quiet dike paths, through green polders, along riverbanks, and past historic villages.

For the nature lovers and birdwatchers, we will also have some time for birdwatching and we should be able to spot some herons, spoonbills, or even a kingfisher if we’re lucky!

Just bring a bicycle, water, snacks, sunscreen, binoculars (if you like birdwatching), and a good mood :) We will stop for a nice picnic, so also bring some food for lunch.
