Dear engineer,

The Facebook Developer Circle Amsterdam and the Founder Institute Amsterdam are looking forward to provide you with a free event full of high-quality speakers.

Goal of the evening is to give you lots of inspiration about how to start and run a tech company as an aspiring entrepreneur. To make it more interesting and relatable, we wanted to show you founders who target the type of professionals you know best: software engineers.

The speakers:

Ives van Hoorne and Bas Buursma, are friends since high-school and are founders of online code editor Codesandbox. CodeSandbox allows users to program and run applications in the browser. It is a full developer platform that allows users the ability to install npm modules, run their code, and share their applications with other users. They recently raised 2.4 million dollars, with a company valuation of approx 10 million dollars.

Thijs Cadier, is founder of Appsignal. AppSignal is a complete monitoring service that tracks performance and exceptions in Ruby on Rails and Elixir applications. Amongst other features, it allows you to receive new exceptions, deploys and performance notifications in a Slack channel. Appsignal raised an undisclosed investment from angel investor Stefan Verkerk, who now fulfills a role as a CEO, whereas Thijs commands the technical roadmap and operations

Ruben Daniels, is the founder and former CEO of Cloud9 IDE, a cloud development environment enabling developers to work, code, collaborate and learn together anywhere, anytime. Cloud9, acquired by Amazon in 2016, solves the pain of having to spend time setting up and managing a dev environment.

Michael Hakopian is the co-founder and CTO of Jexia, a platform for software developers that automatically runs and scales most-wanted functions such as payment gateways, user management, subscription models and authentication and authorization. News media recently reported that Jexia raised 4 million euros from private investors.

This event is organized by the Facebook Developer Circle Amsterdam and the Founder Institute startup accelerator. Launched as an official Facebook initiative, Facebook Developer Circles are a global network of communities which brings devs together in their own local communities. Founder Institute Amsterdam provides a step-by-step program that gives startup founders the structure, mentor support, and network of entrepreneurs they need to start an enduring company. Based in Silicon Valley and with chapters across 60 countries, the Founder Institute's mission is to "Globalize Silicon Valley" and build sustainable startup ecosystems worldwide.

Guests are expected to take their seats before.

Cheers,
Bas, Charlotte, Emanuel, Lorenz and Rixt.
