British Intelligence: Britten, Knussen and Elgar

Details
A lot of concerts are set up around a theme. This concert is centred around mysteries and riddles. It is a concert with "modern" music, mostly written in the 20th and 21st century.
Benjamin Britten's Four Sea Interludes
Britten composed the sea interludes for his opera Peter Grimes, about a fisherman who lose his apprentice at sea. The interludes were originally performed during scene changes and take the listener on a sea voyage.
R. Wrigglesworth, Clock from a Winter's Tale
It isn't the case that often but tonight, we'll be hearing the composer himself conduct his own music. This music was taken from an opera composed by Ryan Wrigglesworth.
Oliver Knussen's Horn Concerto
Oliver Knussen wrote the horn concerto for famous horn player Barry Tuckwell.
Edward Elgar, Enigma Variations
Elgar wrote the Enigma Variations at the end of the 19th century. Every movement is about one of Elgar's close friends and details a certain aspect of that person's personality.
